The New York Cosmos (1-2-1) have not been able to find their rhythm at Shuart Stadium, opening up the 2014 North American Soccer League with two losses and a draw.
On Saturday night the Cosmos home struggles continued with a 1-0 loss to the Carolina RailHawks, as a first half goal by Ty Shipalane was the difference on this night.
New York had plenty of opportunities outshooting Carolina by a 16-8 margin, while also having the 10-6 edge in corners, but none were able to make it past RailHawks keeper Akira Fitzgerald.
The two newest additions to the Cosmos Connor Lade and Andres Flores were both able to make a huge impact in the game, as both men were able to record three shots each. Lade was extremely impressive in the first half, before having to sit out the rest of the game with a dislocated shoulder, which he suffered in the second half of play.
Flores meanwhile showed Cosmos Country just a glimpse of what he can contribute to the team, one impressive move came in the 76 minute mark as he showed some of his skills making his way through traffic.
Other stars of the match were Jimmy Ockford and Ayoze, Ockford had many stellar opportunities, while Ayoze was very aggressive in his play of the ball and contributed with some fine playmaking abilities, while also earning the Emirates Man of the Match. Fans had the opportunity to see the return of Marcos Senna in the match, as the midfielder also showed some impressive skill in spite of missing 7 matches with the club.
