The New York Cosmos announced on Thursday that the team has loaned midfielder Paulo Mendes to Metropolitanos Fútbol Club of Venezuela’s Primera División. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We believe Metropolitanos F.C. will offer Paulo an excellent opportunity to grow as a player,” Head Coach Giovanni Savarese said. “We know he is going to be in an excellent environment where we will be able to monitor his progress.”
Since joining the Cosmos in 2013, Mendes has made sixteen appearances and scored three goals for the club. Mendes, 24, was born in Brazil and prior to joining the Cosmos, played two seasons for the Atlanta Silverbacks, appearing in ten games and scoring once.
