The Long Island Ducks (2-11) struggles continues as the team dropped a three-game set with the Bridgeport Bluefish (9-5) in Atlantic League of Professional Baseball action that was held at Bethpage Ballpark from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Five Ducks hitters have had multiple-hit games during this stretch as Lew Ford, Fehlandt Lentini, Brandon Bantz, Brendan Harris, Cody Puckett and Bill Hall all were able to connect with the sticks.
As of July 23 Lew Ford ranks second in the Atlantic League in Average (.356), while Fehlandt Lentini is fourth (.320), while Ford also is in second place in the league in home runs (60). Starter John Brownell leads all in victories (9), while Shaun Garceau ranks third (8). While the duo are ranked second (Brownell- 85) and fourth (Garceau-72) in strikeouts.
The Ducks will now look to end their slump on the road for a 10 game-stretch, beginning on Thursday with the opener of a three-game set against the Camden Riversharks, with Game 1 slated to start at 11:05 a.m. It will be a battle of the righties as Ducks will send out Bobby Blevins to take on Riversharks Greg Miller.
