Here are some notes for our New York Lizards (6-4) fans as the team will be on the road to take on the Boston Cannons (5-5) in Major League Lacrosse action on Saturday, July 19, 2014.

Six Lizards remain in Denver for FIL World Games:

As the FIL World Games enter championship rounds in Denver, six Lizards players remain in Colorado with Team USA. To fill the six open roster spots, the Lizards have added Ari Sussman, Jordan McBride, Matt Madalon, Chris Laurita, Alex Zomerfeld, and Martin Cahill to the 25-man active roster.

Lizards and Cannons enter Saturday’s game without League leading face- off men:
Both teams will play Saturday’s game without their face-off specialists, who currently rank one and two in the League in face-offs. Chris Eck has won 157-256 face-offs so far this season for the Cannons, putting him in first place in the League, and Greg Gurenlian has won 154-253, ranking him second in the League.

New York leads MLL in penalty killing percentage:

Killing 88% of their penalties so far this season, the Lizards lead the League in the category, followed most closely by Rochester at 74.29%.

Lizards look to boost record on the road:

At 6-4 so far this season, the Lizards have only won one of their five games on the road in 2014, despite being 5-0 at home. The Lizards beat the Cannons earlier this season on Long Island, 11-10 and look to sweep the Cannons in 2014 with a win in Boston.

Last meeting:

The Lizards were able to defeat the Boston Cannons 11-10 in the teams last meeting on May 30. Two players to watch for New York  will be Tommy Palasek and JoJo Marasco, who both had huge games for New York in the team’s last victory against Florida on July 3.

Fans are able to catch the game between the Lizards and the Cannons on MSG Plus, with the face-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m. New York will next be in New York, this time at Stony Brook University on July 27 when they host the Chesapeake Bayhawks, with the face-off time for that game set for 3:00 p.m.
