Six New York Lizards Selected to US Lacrosse Team

The New York Lizards had six players selected to the 23-Man Roster for the US Lacrosse Team that will compete in next month’s FIL World Lacrosse Championships in Denver, CO. Team USA is the defending World Champion, and has won 9-of-11 World Championships, dating back to the inaugural tournament in 1967.

New York led all Major League Lacrosse with the six players selected, including two that were on the 2010 gold medal team in Ned Crotty and Max Seibald.

In addition the US Team will have attacker Rob Pannell, defender Kyle Hartzell, face-off specialist Greg ‘The Beast’ Gurenlian and keeper Drew Adams.

Team USA will head to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs July 6-9 for the final training camp. They play in the opening game of the World Championships in Denver July 10th against Canada.

The New York Lizards will be back in action on Thursday, July 3 as the team will be hosting Heroes’ Day at Shuart Stadium and a game between the home team and the Florida Launch. The team will be wearing and auctioning off special Red, White and Blue numbered jerseys with the proceeds going to the FDNY and NYPD Charities.
