New York Lizards Return for Three-Game Homestand

The New York Lizards (3-4)  who are currently in a four-way tie for third place in the Major League Lacrosse standings will return

home to Shuart Stadium on the Campus of Hofstra University in the hopes of moving on up that ladder in what will be a huge three-game homestand.

Starting on June 21 the guys will play host to the Charlotte Hounds (3-4) on June 21, before taking on the Ohio Machine (3-4) on June 28. The homstand will end on July 3 as fireworks are expected early with the Florida Launch (4-3) come into town.

A victory over Charlotte is a must-win for the guys if they wish to stay in the MLL Playoff Hunt, as for the stats  Rob Pannell sits in fourth place in the scoring leaders categories with his 25 points as of June 18.

There will be two  Lizards heading to the Major League Lacrosse All-Star game to be held at the historic Harvard Stadium on June 26 at 7:00 p.m.

Steve DeNapoli, who was also named an All-Star in 2012, will take the field along with his teammate Kevin Unterstein. DeNapoli has 11 ground balls this year, while Unterstein has recorded 1 goal and 6 GBs in 2014, will both represent at this years festivities.

It was announced on June 10 that face-off specialist Greg Gurenlian has been added back to the to the tryout process for the final 23-player Team USA roster that will compete for gold next month at the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championship, U.S. head coach Richie Meade confirmed Tuesday.

There will be plenty of reasons to attend the Lizards three-game homestand in addition to the great action on the field the team is going to be having some awesome promotional dates upcoming.

On June 21 the first 1,00 fans through the gates will get a limited edition six-pack of player cards featuring Max Seibald, Drew Adams, Brian Karalunas, Matt Striebel, Ned Crotty and Steve DeNapoli

June 28 will be Women’s Day at Shuart Stadium as the Lizards will be giving away Pink Rally Towel’s, in addition to auctioning off game-worn helmets after the game. The Lizards will continue their ongoing Heroes Day on July 3, as the team will be auctioning off game-worn jerseys after the game in addition to having post-game fireworks.
