Sabathia’s PitCCh In Foundation and Robinson Cano’s RC22 Foundation Present the Summer Classic Charity Basketball Game at Barclays Center on Thursday, August 21

CC Sabathia’s PitCCh In Foundation and Robinson Cano’s RC22 Foundation will host the Summer Classic Charity Basketball Game at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Thursday, August 21 at 8 p.m. Sabathia and Cano will serve as captains to two celebrity basketball teams, which will be announced closer to the game. All ticket proceeds from the event will serve to benefit both PitCCh In Foundation and RC22 Foundation equally. The event aims to increase opportunities for underserved youth in the areas of education, wellness and fitness.

Tickets will go on sale beginning Friday, June 20 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased online via Ticketmaster, by visiting www.barclayscenter.com or www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000. Tickets will also be available at the American Express Box Office at Barclays Center beginning Saturday, June 21 at noon, if tickets are still available. The Summer Classic Charity Basketball Game will feature a celebrity basketball game showdown between Team Sabathia and Team Cano, a dunk performance, 3-point competition, half court contest, live auction and much more with a special master of ceremony – Radio and TV Host Angie Martinez.

“We are excited to bring our two charities together under one common goal,” Sabathia said.

“We will be bringing spectators, including many youth groups, under the Barclays Center roof for an entertaining game and rewarding experience,” Cano said.

The PitCCh In Foundation, founded by Amber and CC Sabathia, serves to enrich the lives of inner city youth and raise self-esteem through educational and athletic activities. Similarly, Robinson Cano’s RC22 Foundation aims to positively impact the lives of underserved children and communities both locally and globally by improving outcomes in the areas of youth development and community healthcare. These two foundations will come together to present the Summer Classic Charity Basketball Game at Barclays Center, with the proceeds benefiting specific projects within each foundation. The RC22 Foundation will use all proceeds for Dream Schools in the Dominican Republic, while The PitCCh In Foundation will focus on baseball field renovation.
