New York Liberty Head Coach and General Manager Bill Laimbeer announced on Monday that the team has waived guard Kamiko Williams and signed free agent center Avery Warley-Talbert.
Warley-Talbert appeared in eight games for the Liberty in 2013 after being signed in mid-June. She made five starts and averaged 3.0 points and 4.9 rebounds per game during her tenure in New York. Warley-Talbert finished the 2013 season with the Chicago Sky, where the 6-foot-3 center averaged 1.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in 14 games played. Warley-Talbert was waived by Chicago after appearing in two preseason games in 2014.
Williams was acquired by the Liberty with a second round pick (15th overall) in the 2013 WNBA Draft. In her rookie season, Williams played in all 34 games, making 18 starts. She averaged 2.6 points in 13.3 minutes per contest. Williams suffered a torn ACL during training camp and will miss the remainder of the 2014 season.
