Ducks lose Series-Finale heartbreaker to Barnstormers 10-9

The Long Island Ducks (17-14) lost a series-finale heartbreaker to the Lancaster Barnstormers (20-14) by a final of 10-9 in Atlantic  League of Professional Baseball action on Thursday night.

Long Island was able to get on the board first, as Joash Brodin and Brendan Harris both recorded RBI singles in the first inning. The Ducks added on to the lead in the fourth thanks to the combined bats of Adam Bailey and Brodin, who had a solo homer and a two run blast respectively.

Both teams battled back and forth until a two-out RBI double to center by Yusuke Kajimoto in the eighth gave the Barnstormers the lead for good Ford and Fehlandt Lentini led the Ducks with three hits while Brodin added two hits, three RBI and two runs.

The Ducks will return home for a three-game set against the Somerset Patriots. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05. Long Island will be welcoming the 6th millionth fan into the gates at the game, so all of the fans are encouraged to arrive early for the festivities and stay for a phenomenal pitching matchup between  Righty Shaun Garceau gets the start for the Ducks against Patriots righty Derell McCall.
