Cosmos start strong but end game with Indy in 1-1 Draw

The New York Cosmos (4-2-1) were off to a red-hot start in the first half of play but were not able to find the goal needed against Indy Eleven (0-4-3) in Saturday Night Soccer action at Shuart Stadium.

New York who notched a goal early in the game as Sebastian Guenzatti was able to net a ball in the top corner edge of the box of a beautiful pass from Mads Stokkelien.

The Cosmos were aggressive throughout but were unable to gain the second goal, meanwhile Indy Eleven tied things up as Brad Ring put a low shot past Cosmos keeper Jimmy Maurer.

For New York they will now have to put their focus on preparing for the US Open Cup match versus the Brooklyn Italians that will take place this coming Wednesday, before they go back to NASL action with an away game versus the Fort Lauderdale Strikers next Saturday.

The game versus the New York Cosmos and Brooklyn Italians will be played at St. John’s University Belson Stadium, with kick-off slated for 6:30 p.m.
