The New York Liberty will tip-off its 18th season in franchise history with preseason match-ups against Eastern Conference rivals the Connecticut Sun and Atlanta Dream.
The Liberty will start the 2014 season with back-to-back games against the Connecticut Sun, beginning with a road game at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, May 4 at 1 p.m., followed by a home matchup on Thursday, May 8 at 11 a.m. at the completely transformed Madison Square Garden. The game will serve as the Liberty’s annual School Day games with each student in attendance receiving an educational workbook. There will also be a special guest speaker that will address the students with an anti-bullying message at halftime. Exhibition play concludes on Sunday, May 11 at 3 p.m. against the Atlanta Dream at Philips Arena.
New York, led by perennial All-Star Cappie Pondexter, enters its second season under head coach and general manager Bill Laimbeer.
