All the cylinders were clicking for the Hofstra University Men’s Basketball team (7-13, 3-2 CAA) in the first half of play, but the Pride were not able to keep the momentum going in the second as they fell to Northeastern (7-14, 4-3 CAA) by a final score of 70-57.
It was a tale of two teams as the guys played a completely aggressive style at first, but were not able to maintain that momentum, while allowing a very tough Northeastern team to hang around in the game.
There were four players that finished the night with double-figured scoring. The graduate duo of Dion Nesmith (Union, New Jersey) and Zeke Upshaw (Chicago, Illinois) continued their fine play for Hofstra finishing among the top two in scoring. Nesmith led all scoring with 18 points, while Upshaw followed with 12.
Freshman guard Jamall Robinson (Cheltenham, Maryland) had some impressive buckets in the game, finishing up the night with 11 points, and Junior Forward/Center Moussa Kone (Bronx, NY) rounds out all scoring with his 10 points.
The Pride return to action on Monday, January 27 when they take to the road to face the Towson Tigers at SECU Arena. Game time is 7 p.m. That contest will be televised locally in the New York area on SNY. Hofstra will next be back at the Mack Sports Complex on Wednesday, January 29 when they play host to Drexel University, tip-of time for that game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
