Lizards outgunned by Outlaws in 13-10 loss

It was a physical bout between two determined teams, as both bodies were flying  and blood was shed and the emotions and pride between these two teams were shown in a very competitive game.

Every time New York had a goal, the juggernaut known as the Outlaws had an answer. One of the brightest spots for Denver was Jeremy Sieverts, who ducked and dodged his way towards a hat trick.

For New York who had momentum going up until the fourth quarter, seemed like they were not going to allow the Outlaws to leave Long Island with their undefeated record.

JoJo Marasco (Syracuse) notched his first goal for New York at the 6:18 mark in the First Quarter of the game, Marasco would score twice more to finally find some of his scoring touch with the team. JoJo who has been more of a passer will be possibly one of the keys to the Lizards success in the 2014 season.

New York’s offense was also led by Rob Pannell (Cornell), David Earl (Notre Dame) and Hofstra University grad Kevin Unterstein, who all had two goals each.

In the cage Drew Adams (Penn State)) made 21 saves, while Greg ‘The Beast’ Gurenlian won 16-of-27 face-offs.

The New York Lizards will have one final home game to end off their Major League Lacrosse season on Saturday, August 10 as they will take on a very tough Ohio Machine team. Face-off for the finale will take place at 7:00 p.m.
