Four Lizards’ heading to the All-Star Game:

The New York Lizards will send four representatives to the 2013 Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game, which will be held in Charlotte. Representing the franchise will be Drew Adams, Greg Gurenlian, Brian Karalunas and Rob Pannell.

Two for Two:

Drew Adams and Brian Karalunas will be making their second all-star appearances. Adams, who is a two-time Warrior Goalie of the Year, leads the league in minutes played. Drew also ranks fifth in both save percentage and Goals-Against-Average and also has the most saves of goalie thus far this year.

Karalunas has played in all eight games for the Lizards, recording 17 ground balls and sitting-out in only two penalty minutes.

Congrats to the first time All-Stars:

Congrats to Greg Gurenlian and Rob Pannell who was selected to the All-Star game for the first season. Gurenlian has lived up to his nickname ‘The Beast’ in being the top face-off man in the league, going 131-211 at the X so far for a .621 winning percentage.

Pannell has impressed from the start for New York, making an impact in just about every game he has started. Rob is the only rookie in the entire league to be named to the list. In four games this season, Rob has already scored seven goals and added nine assists.

Movers and Shakers:

New York has traded Hofstra graduate and midfielder John Antoniades to the Hamilton Nationals for face-off specialist Matt Dolente. Dolente is in his third season in the league and has won nearly 50% of the draws he has taken.

Palasek and Pannell a powerful one-two punch:

Tommy Palasek and Rob Pannell have combined to be a powerful one-two punch in the scoring department for the Lizards. Palasek thus far has led the Lizards with his 14 goals and four assists, while Pannell has 7 goals and nine helpers.
