Lizards v. Nationals Notes 6/13/13

Here are some notes for those fans getting ready to watch the New York Lizards (2-4) play host to the Hamilton Nationals (5-1) in Major League Lacrosse action in the last game on Randall’s Island in New York City.

Lizards looking to avenge earlier loss to Nationals:

This is the second meeting between New York and Hamilton, as when these two teams met on May 11 in Canada the Lizards fell by the score of 12-11.

Captains Named for New York:

New York named Max Seibald and Greg Gurenlian as the captains for the 2013 season. Gurenlian is currently ranked the top face-off specialist in the league with a .649 percentage. This is Gurenlian’s fourth season with the team.

Seibald was also named captain after one season with the Lizards. In 2009 Max was the second overall draft pick and was traded in 2012 to New York, having an outstanding season scoring 24 goals and adding 11 assists.

Drew Adams Impressing in the Cage:

Keeper Drew Adams has the most saves in the MLL with 93 over the course of six games. The last time Adams saw the Nationals he recorded 14 saves, only allowing 10 goals. In the game against the Bayhawks he recorded 15 saves.
