Lizards v. Hounds Notes 5/31/13

Here are some notes for those fans getting ready to watch the New York Lizards (2-2) who are playing host to the Charlotte Hounds (1-3) in Major League Lacrosse action at Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University.

Welcome to New York:

Rob Pannell and JoJo Marasco will join the Lizards roster against the Hounds after taking part of the NCAA Final Four last weekend in Philadelphia.  Pannell was recently awarded the 2013 Tewaaraton Award shortly after joining his new teammates.

Pannell breaks NCAA All-Time scoring record:

With 354 career points, Rob Pannell passed Matt Danowski’s career scoring record. Pannell ended his senior season at Cornell with 47 goals and 52 assists

Gurenlian tops the League in the face-offs:

.Greg ‘The Beast’ Gurenlian leads the league in face-offs with a .670 percentage heading into week five of the MLL season.

Milestones to Watch for:

With one more two point goal Stephen Peyser takes sole possession of the all-time leading 2-point goal scoring for the Lizards.

Stephen Berger is 55 shots away from eclipsing Tim Goettelmann as the Lizards all-time shots leader.

The Lizards and the Hounds game will air on the CBS Sports network, with face-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
