Nets vs. 76ers 3/11/13

Here are some notes for those fans getting ready to watch the Brooklyn Nets (37-26) who are on the road to take on the Philadelphia 76ers (23-38) in NBA action.

If the Nets win it would push the record to 12 games above .500 for the first time since 4/19/06, it’d also be the third consecutive victory against the 76ers this season and the fourth consecutive road victory against Philly.

All-Time against Philly:

The Nets hold a 70-100 overall record against Philadelphia, with the biggest victory at home coming on 12/23/12, which was a 95-92 decision. In the 2012-13 season series the Nets had a 2-0 record after recording a 108-89 victory on 1/8/13.

Nets Recap:

Brooklyn was able to tear into a 11-1 deficit to earn a 93-80 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. Brook Lopez led all scoring with 18 points, 14 of those coming in the third quarter, to help lead the Nets to a victory. Andray Blatche also scored 18 off the bench for the Nets in 20 minutes, on 9-of-11 shooting, as well as recording four steals and rebounds.

Locking it Down:

The Nets continue to play stellar defense and obtain huge victories thanks to it. In the game against the Hawks, the defense for Brooklyn held Atlanta to just 14 second quarter points, which was an opponent low for that quarter this season.

Pace Setter:

Joe Johnson currently has the 10th-most three-pointers in a season in Nets history (119). Johnson is on pace to finish with 155 three-pointers, which would be the third-most in franchise history.

The Nets and 76ers game is set to air on the YES Network, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
