Here are some notes for those fans getting ready to watch the New York Knicks (37-21) who are playing host to the Oklahoma City Thunder (44-16) in NBA action at Madison Square Garden.

This will be the first of two meetings between these two teams, with the Knicks looking to avenge a season series loss from 2012.

Tyson Chandler recorded 14 points and seven boards in one meeting against the Thunder last season. Amar’e Stoudemire tallied 14 points and six boards.

STAT impressive stats:

Amar’e Stoudemire tied a season high in points in 22 on 8-for-12 shooting from the field in the game against Detroit. Stoudemire has eclipsed the 20-point mark five times this season, with the Knicks holding a 5-1 record when Amar’e scores 20 or more points.

This Date in Knicks History:

1992: The Knicks record the 1,000th home victory in franchise history, which was a 107-78 decision over Charlotte.

2011: New York scores 40 points in the first quarter in a 131-109 victory over Utah at the Garden. Carmelo Anthony scores 36 points (12-16 FG) and Amar’e Stoudemire added 31 (12-15 FG).
