Here are some notes for those fans getting ready to watch the New York Knicks (36-21) who are on the road to take on the Detroit Pistons (23-39) in NBA action.

New York travels to Detroit for the final of a two-game road trip, as this is the last of four meetings between these two teams. The Knicks are looking to extend a six-game winning streak versus the Pistons, which is the longest such streak versus any team.

The Knicks are looking to sweep the season series against the Pistons for the second consecutive season. Before last season, New York hadn’t swept a season series against Detroit since 1995-96.

In three battles against the Pistons, New York has been paced by Carmelo Anthony’s 27.3 points and 4.0 rebounds. Amar’e Stoudemire posted 18.5 points and 3.5 boards in two games against Detroit.

Knicks Recap:

New York ended a 10 game losing streak at Cleveland with a 102-97 victory over the Cavaliers. Amar’e Stoudemire led the Knicks with 22 points on 10-15 shooting and six boards in over 32 minutes. J.R. Smith recorded 18 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in over 38 minutes.

All-Time against the Pistons:

The Knicks hold a 199-160 all-time record against the Detroit Pistons, with a 74-93 record on the road.

This Date in Knicks History:

1996: Patrick Ewing grabs nine rebounds in the 89-82 victory at Toronto, passing Willis Reed (8,414) for first place on the Knicks all-time rebounding list.

2005: New York was able to shoot a season-high .618 from the field-highest shooting game in four years-en route to a 115-99 victory versus the Golden State Warriors at the Garden. Stephon Marbury leads the way with 26 points (9-16 FG, 2-4 3P, 6-6 FT) and 16 assists.

The Knicks and Pistons game is set to air on the MSG Network, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
