This is the first of two meetings between the New York Knicks and the Golden State Warriors this season. New York will head out west to take on
Golden State on March 11. The Knicks lost the season series 0-1 with the Warriors last season, dropping a road game by the score of 92-78 on December 28.
New York has not won a season series against Golden State since the 2000-01 season (2-0). Amar’e Stoudemire posted 16 points in one meeting against the Warriors last season. Golden State’s David Lee recorded 13 points and five rebounds in one game against New York last season.
Using strong defense and bench play the New York Knicks were able to snap its longest losing streak under head coach Mike Woodson, with a 99-93 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday. Leading the way on offense was Carmelo Anthony who had 29 points and seven boards in over 40 minutes. Amar’e Stoudemire led the way off the bench with 22 points and five boards in over 22 minutes.

The Knicks announced on Saturday that they have signed forward Kenyon Martin to a 10-day contract. Martin, 6-9, 230 pounds, averaged 13.0 points on 48.1 percent shooting, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. Martin has seen time with New Jersey, Denver and the LA. Clippers, appearing in 100 postseason games (87 starts), averaging 13.7 points, 7.0 boards and 1.9 assists in over 33.4 minutes.

2000: The Knicks rallied from a 12-point third-quarter deficit for a thrilling 89-88 nationally televised victory over Philadelphia at Madison Square Garden.
2011: Carmelo Anthony scores a game-high 29 points and Chauncey Billiups adds 15 and has the game-turning plays on both ends of the floor in the team’s 91-86 comeback victory over Miami. Amar’e Stoudemire posts the play of the game, blocking LeBron James lay-up with a one-point lead in the final 10 seconds.
