New York won the first meeting, which was a 88-76 decision at the Garden on Nov. 18, 2012, but the Pacers evened up the series by handing the Knicks a 81-76 loss on January 10. Thus far the Knicks have not lost a season series versus the Pacers since the 2007-08 season (0-4).
In an earlier battle against the Pacers helping to lead the way for the Knicks offensively was Carmelo Anthony, who had 26 points and nine rebounds. JR Smith recorded 19.0 points and 5.0 rebounds to go along with 4.0 assists in two games.
Center of Attention:
Tyson Chandler has led the team in rebounds in 35 times this season, and currently sits sixth in the NBA in rebounding at 11.1 per game-which includes grabbing 4.5 offensive boards per game.
Chandler posted eight points and 13 rebounds in over 36 minutes in the Feb. 6 loss at Washington. The center tied a franchise record with his third straight game of 20-rebounds, and is the first Knick to record three consecutive 20-rebounds game since Willis Reed accomplished this feat during the 1969-70 season.
Making an Impact:
The combination of Raymond Felton, Jason Kidd, Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith and Tyson Chandler are seventh in the NBA with a plus-75. New York has two players in the top-30 in plus/minus.
