The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team (5-18, 2-8) showed heart and grit against the top team in the Colonial Athletic Association in Northeastern University (15-8, 10-1), but missed opportunities and a tough zone by the Huskies cost the Pride the opportunity of a big win at home.
Hofstra fell by a final score of 62-57, but played tough twice against a Northeastern team, who just made the shots necessary to gain the victory.
Three Pride athletes finished in double digit scoring led by Stephen Nwaukoni, who had a double-double with his 11 points and 13 boards. Stevie Mejia also had 11 points, while Taran Buie rounded out the scoring with 10.
Hofstra will next be in action on Saturday, as they are on the road to take on UNC Wilmington on Saturday. For those fans wanting to watch the game can do so on the MSG Network, with tip-off scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
