New York Rangers vs. Bruins Notes 1/18/13

Here are some notes for those that will be watching the season-opener between the New York Rangers and the Boston Bruins on Saturday. This is the first meeting of the season, as the Blueshirts look to continue their success against Boston.

Last season, New York took three of four from their Eastern Conference rivals, and with the addition of one Rick Nash the Rangers will look to continue that success.

Looking to make an impact with New York will be Aaron Asham, Jeff Halpern and Taylor Pyatt. One of the big keys again for the Blueshirts will be in the cage as Henrik Lundqvist will once again look to rule in the cage.

Lundqvist, who had two shutouts in his last three trips to Boston and a 1.53 GAA in 27 career games against the Bruins.

Boston will also have a great netminder in their end of the ice, as Tuukka Rask has now taken over the number one spot in the cage. Rask had a 1.97 GAA in a career-high 45 games before the Bruins playoff dreams were ruined by Philadelphia.

For those wanting to watch the season opener between the Rangers and Bruins can either do so on the NHL-Network or on the MSG network.
