On his goal for Sunday:

“Just get a win.  Get a win.  The margin for error is so small in this league and losing, just like winning is contagious and (it) can turn so quickly. Seeing it happen my rookie year, in 2010 we were on a team that just couldn’t lose at certain times. We won four games on the last play of the game in a row. Those kind of things happen, just like losing games in a row happen, dropping the last three or whatever it is.  I have faith that these guys can turn it around and we just have to keep fighting and don’t question your preparation. If you have something that you know it’s going to help us work. Don’t stop watching film, watch more.  Don’t stop throwing routes after practice, do more.  It’ll turn.”

On the Rams defense:

“They’re strong, they’re fast (and) they’re just a nasty group.  They hit hard, all over the field. Their front seven is crazy, their backend is good, so it’s going to be a tough challenge for us. (They have a) really fast-flow defense. They’re good, really good.”

On staying focused during the grind of the season:

“If anything, just try to work harder and smarter, not just harder, if that makes sense. In times like these, like (if) you’re coming back from a West Coast trip you (might think), ‘I really don’t want to lift tomorrow,’ but now is the time you have to lift, you let it go and it catches up to you. Or, (you might think), ‘I’m tired, I’ll watch it tomorrow.’ You just have to fight that because this is a time where you can really slip if you’re not strong enough to handle it. I think guys are. You just have to constantly fight it and stay positive, but it’s part of the job. That’s the way it goes.”

Rams quarterback Sam Bradford:

On working with Coach Schottenheimer:

“I’ve really enjoyed working with Schotty. It’s been great getting to know him (and) learning his system. I think he’s really helped me in the fact this year that he’s very detailed in everything that he does. He coaches me hard on little things. He never lets anything slide by and I think that’s been something I haven’t had in the past couple years. With him and Cig (Frank Cignetti) coaching me, it seems like they’re always on me about something. They help me elevate my level of play.”

On if he thinks Coach Schottenheimer wants to beat the Jets because it’s his old team:

“Yeah, I mean, I’m sure anyone that leaves a team and goes to a new team, I think anytime you have an opportunity to play your old team, you want to beat them. But at the same time, it’s one of our 16 regular season games. He’s treated it just like any other game week. We set out to win each and every week and I think that’s the way he’s approached this week.”

On whether the team wants to win this one for Coach Schottenheimer:

“Yeah, obviously, like I said earlier, we set out each and every week to win. That’s our goal. I think first and foremost we want to win because that’s who we are and what we do but at the same time getting to know Schotty over the past couple months, I think it would be nice for us to help him out and bring this one home for him.”
