The New York Yankeees advance to the American League Division Series with a 3-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Friday night.
Helping to lead New York was starting pitcher C.C. Sabathia who tossed a complete game, striking out nine batters while only giving up four hits.
On the offensive end driving in the vital runs to help the Bombers were Raul Ibanez, who had an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning; Ichiro Suzuki who recorded an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning and Curtis Granderson who had a homer in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The Yankees have advanced to their 15th ALDS, while now holding an 11-3 ALCS record all-time (thus far).
This will be the 10th appearance for the Yankees in 17 seasons since 1996.
