“Hope Shines for Shannon” set to help an amazing Mets PR staffer

Every day in the offices of Major League Baseball teams everywhere; staff members quietly do their jobs-providing the media with the information they need to make their stories come to life. One such person is Shannon Forde, who has helped those at Citi Field with whatever information is needed in covering the Mets.

On August 2, 2012 Shannon, 41-years old, was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Though her treatments are leaving her very tired, the fighting spirit and amazing energy of Forde continues, as she continues her juggle of family, working full-time and treatment.

Forde always takes time to answer whatever questions that a reporter may have, and she is always willing to share her enthusiasm and passion to others.

Shannon is now in need of help from Mets fans and followers everywhere, and her friends and family have joined with The Daniel P. Ryan Foundation and The Chic Charity Club to raise money as funds are needed for medical and household expenses.

There will be a very special fundraiser held on November 1, 2012, as well as opportunities to donate fans are encouraged to click on the link below for more information:
