1495 Sports Live Scoring update: Giants def. Jets 26-3 in NFL Pre-Season action on 8/18/12

Fans of both the New York Jets and Giants are encouraged to refresh this page as 1495 Sports is going to bring live scoring updates from the NFL pre-season game to be held at MetLife Stadium tonight.

The Giants def. the Jets 26-3 in a penalty filled game for fans of Gang Green.

Stats leaders for the Jets:

Shonn Greene had 11 rushes for 36 yards

Bilal Powell followed with six rushes for 21 yards

Quarterback Mark Sanchez had nine completions for 59 total yards, while Tim Tebow had five completions for 69 yards.

Stats leaders for the Giants:

David Wilson had eight rushes for 26 yards

D.J. Ware had 11 rushes for 15 yards

Quarterback Eli Manning had seven completed passes for 62 yards, while David Carr had five completed passes for 83 yards

Jets win the opening coin toss and elect to receive for the second straight preseason game.

First Quarter:

The Jets were unable to do anything on their first offensive opportunity, and now Eli Manning and the Giants take the field for their first crack at the end zone

Manning and the Giants are looking to cash in on a roughing the kicker penalty that was called on the Jets. There is 7:16 left in the Quarter as Big Blue is on the Jets 24 yard line, it is a 3-and-10 situation

6:34 Lawrence Tynes kicked a 35-yard field goal to give the Giants a 3-0 lead. For Tynes that is his 8th FG in all games vs. the Jets from 35 yards out

The Giants will next be in action when they host the Chicago Bears at MetLife Stadium on August 24 with the game slated to start at 8:00 p.m.
