Staub and Milan were teammates on the 1973 Mets team that won the National League pennant.  Staub hit three homers while driving in five runs in the franchises victory over the Cincinnati Reds in the NL Championship Series, while also made a stellar defensive play to rob Dan Driessen of an extra-base hit in the 11th inning.

Milan was a large piece of that 73 NL pennant team, solidifying the middle with double play partner Bud Harrelson, also known as ‘The Cat’ the second baseman was one of the toughest men in baseball to strikeout. From 1973-75 Felix would never strike out more than 28 times in a season.
