Knicks sizzle in 99-82 victory over Hawks

The New York Knicks (17-17) sizzled in their 99-82 victory over the Atlanta Hawks (19-14) in NBA action on Wednesday night. New York had five players in double-digit scoring, as the team now gets ready for a heavyweight showdown with the Miami Heat on Thursday.

Showing a balanced team effort, great passing and thunderous dunks-the Knicks are starting to look dangerous with multiple offensive weapons. New York was led by starter Jeremy Lin and Steve Novak, who both had 17-points.

Lin had his 17 starting, while Novak had a 6-for-12 performance from the field coming off the bench for New York.  For anyone wondering if Lin and starting forward Carmelo Anthony would have any chemistry had their doubts quickly doused with thunderous dunks from Melo on assists from the Knicks point-guard during the game.

Also showing great chemistry was new addition J.R. Smith and the returning Baron Davis, who also combined for several snazzy plays during the course of the game.

The lone concern still for fans of the Orange and Blue, was the fact that the team allowed the Hawks to even get back into the game…as at one point New York held a commanding 60-35 lead at the Half.

Helping to lead that Atlanta comeback was Jeff Teague, who finished the night with 16 points for the Hawks. In the end though it was Lin and company that were able to pull out the victory; thanks to some sharp-shooting by Novak, who had some huge three-point shots down the stretch for New York.

Now it is time to see how this new look Knicks team takes on the big three of Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, Chris Bosh and the rest of the Miami Heat. The game between the Knicks and the Heat is scheduled to air on the TNT network, with tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
