Franco helps Citi Promote Presale Ticket Promotion event

New York Mets-great John Franco, who will be inducted into the franchises Hall of Fame in June, was on hand in three Manhattan locations on Monday to help launch the Citi Ticket Promotion event. The financial services company will be offering their customers two days to purchase tickets, through an online presale at www.Mets.com/CitiPresale

The two-day promotion beings on Monday, February 27 at 10:00 AM and ends on Tuesday, February 28 at 11:59 PM. This presale is for Citi customers who use their credit or debit cards, and are for purchases for single game tickets only.

“Citi is thrilled to make this exclusive offer available to our valued Citi credit and debit cardholders,” said Bill Brown, Manhattan Division Director, and Citibank. “This is yet another benefit to having a Citi card, and we look forward to seeing fans at Citi Field cheering on the Mets this year.”

Franco along with world-famous mascot Mr. Met was on hand at three various locations in Manhattan, to greet the first 100 fans at each location.  Franco signed autographs, while taking pictures with the fans in attendance, while Mr. Met greeted fans at all three locations.

1495 Sports was on hand to chat with Franco on a variety of topics, including New York sports and got his thoughts on what to look for in the upcoming season.

“We are here today to help promote the Mets and Citi online presale event,” said Franco at the Citibank flagship branch in Union Square. “Citi customers using their credit or debit cards can purchase tickets online for any single game tickets, before they go on sale to the public.”

The future Mets Hall of Fame inductee had this to say on who he is looking forward to seeing in the upcoming season:

“I am looking forward to seeing Johan Santana return to the team, hopefully he bounces back from his injuries and is healthy because he will really help anchor that staff,” said Franco. On the younger guys he is looking forward to seeing the former Mets closer had this to say, “Obviously Dillon Gee had a great year as well as Jonathon Niese, those guys will only get better as they get older and as they get more experience under their belt.”

On being inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame, Franco had this to say:

“I am very excited, honored and humbled to be a part of the Mets Hall of Fame, growing up as a kid in New York I rooted for the Mets, so being able to play for them it was a humbling and it was truly an honor for me.”

Citi also had branch managers Billy Cho and Eugene Usherenko on hand to help fans at the Union Square and the branch on 42nd Street and Madison Avenue to learn more about the Citi online presale promotion event.

“Citi is partners with the Mets in a variety of ways, it is not just a matter of having our name on the field” said Cho who is the branch manager at the Union Square location, which is the flagship branch of Citibank. “We work with the Mets organization in a variety of community initiatives, such as the Citi Field youth program, as well as working with the Mets Alumni Association to benefit great organizations-such as City Harvest, Habitat for Humanity as well as Military Veterans Groups.”

Citi customers using their credit or debit card received a special 10% discount on all merchandise, excluding tickets, at the Mets Clubhouse Shop; which is located on 11 W. 42ndStreet between 5th and 6th Avenues only, for the duration of the two-day promotion.

“We have some great seats and some great ball games for fans to come out too,” Franco said. “Hope you all come out to support Citi and support the New York Mets.”
