On Saturday, September 24, 2011 Super Soccer Stars Special Needs and Autism Speaks NYC got together to host a soccer demo session for individuals with autism. The hopes were to give individuals a chance to participate in an organized sport while exercising and being outside. This provided an opportunity for some kids to play soccer for the first time.
One of the parents had this to say of the event, “Normally my son has no interest in sports, but he is running all over and kicking the ball, it is great!”
