Fans of the 1969 Miracle Mets may want to mark their calendars for Tuesday, June 19, as greats Ed Charles and Art Shamsky will be on hand to greet fans and sign autographs at the Citibank branch at 78-09 Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village Queens in Support of  the Citi Tuesdays program.

Citibank wanted to provide added value and offer unique experiences and benefits to their customers, which is why the financial services company started the Citi Tuesdays program. The promotion, which takes place during all Mets Tuesday home games at Citi Field, rewards fans for using their Citi debit or credit card.

Those customers that have a Citi credit or debit card will receive savings on tickets and merchandise, to special access at Citi Field’s Acela and Caesars Club.

Charles was known as “The Glider” due to his great third base play (career .957 fielding percentage) and his graceful base-running. Shamsky was known as being one of the best clutch hitters in baseball in 1969, as he hit .388 in games that were close late.
