There was a ton of development and a chance to see the future of the New York Mets on Coney Island as the Brooklyn Cyclones (32-32, 57-72) and in Fifth Place in the SAL North Division Standings are going to be a team to watch for in 2027 and beyond.
Getting the call to the next level were Corey Collins, John Bay, Jamari Baylor and Eddinson Paulino along with pitchers Dakota Hawkins and Luke Gabrysh.
With the landscape of the team changing after the MLB trades, the team is now getting to see the development of Sammy Stafura, Cole Mathis and Aidan Smith.
Overall, it is a fun experiences for all involved in Coney Island including the 12-5 victory the team had on Thursday night.
In that game it was a career-high five nights as Ronald Hernandez was able to get two homers, and driving in six RBI’s. This was the first time all season a Brooklyn batter was able to get six RBIs in a single game, and the first that this is accomplished in a single game since 2021.
In the start on 9/5 fans in attendance was able to see the Mets No. 24 prospect in Daviel Hurtado on the mound. Hurtado prior to the start went 13.0 innings without allowing an earned run, that was before the game against Hudson Valley.

Thus far Daviel is one of the best pitchers in the South Atlantic League and leads all pitchers in ERA (2.75), batting average against (.188), WHIP (1.00) and in other statistical categories.
Other impressive arms includes pitcher Rafi Vazquez has he has gotten scoreless innings in six of the last seven apperances thus far.
One of the most encouraging things thus far is in the past two weeks the offense is on a roll as they were able to have 16 runs on 20 hits between Wednesday and Thursday at Hudson Valley, in addition to having a huge showing in Asheville.
That is an encouraging sign for the team as they have the home finale tomorrow and start to prepare for 2027.
Expected to start in the 2:00 pm game is LHP Nicolas Carreño (3-3, 4.47 ERA) projects to take the ball for Brooklyn against Fredrick’s RHP Jake Dykhoff (2-0, 2.53 ERA).
