Drawless against Seattle as Gotham FC remains in Third Place

With nearly 10,000 people all watching Gotham FC take on Seattle, everyone was wide awake to see the thrilling match between these two NWSL squads.

It was a record day for the ladies of Gotham as they were able to tie the club record for the longest unbeaten streak and also extending the unbeaten run in NWSL play to seven matches.

Some of the other fun facts and figures from the folks at the Gotham FC PR department include the fact that this is the sixth time in club history and third time under a team Coached by Juan Carlos Amorós that a club has this long of a run.

Those in attendance at Sports Illustrated Stadium got to be a part of a clinic when it came time to watching Gotham maintaining the possession of the soccer ball along with seeing some great overall defense by the ladies.

That defense held Seattle to one shot and that was a club record for fewest shots faced.

Another part of the milestone moments was the fact that Goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger is now the seventh player in NWSL regular-season history to record 10 or more shutouts in a single season.

The ladies of Gotham have been playing well in terms of overall defense, as they have recorded three consecutive clean sheets across all competitions.

It was in the Second Hal of play that Gotham got themselves oh so close to gaining three points.

Overall, the team was able to see shots on target by Rose Lavelle, Jaedyn Shaw and Josefine Hasbo, but one has to tip the cap to Seattle though as anytime Gotham had themselves an opportunity it was the Reign Defense coming through with some big-time plays.

The NWSL race is going to be a thriller as the ladies are down to the last two matches of the regular season.

We are also excited to bring Gotham FC fans the following video featuring thoughts from Coach Juan, Katrin-Berger and Jaelin Howell from after the match…video is compliments of Gotham FC:

It’ll be a battle on the road against the First Place and winners of the 2025 NWSL Shield the Kansas City Current at CPKC Stadium.

Kansas City is going to be a tough one for the ladies as they have a 5-0 mark in the home venue, and the ladies are also trying for the first victory against the franchise.

After that the ladies return to the friendly confines of Sports Illustrated Stadium as they are going to have Queen Kreigs day and host Racing Louisville FC.

On that night the franchise is going to honor U.S. Women’s National Team Legend and former Captain and current Club Ambassador Ali Kreiger.

A fan favorite on the squad, Krieger was a huge part in her role as the Captain of the team’s run to the first NWSL Championship in 2023; and her goal-line save along with her playing all 300 playing minutes were all a vital part to the team winning the first ever championship.

“I am so proud of the time I have spent with Gotham FC as a player and now as a club ambassador,” said Krieger. “I am honored that Gotham is celebrating our time together in such a special way, and I can’t wait to share the day with our fans and team.”

As a part of the regular season finale and Queen Kreigs day the first 4,000 in attendance are going to get a Queen Kriegs scarf giveaway as a part of the celebration.

The franchise is planning a ton of fun and festive activities on that day, so all fans that are attending are encouraged to get to Harrison earlier in the day.

These are going to be two of the team’s biggest matches as points are vital to the ladies as they are looking to maintain good positioning for the 2025 NWSL Playoffs.
