Cyclones Two Wins Away from SAL Championship

The Brooklyn Cyclones have a great history when it comes time for Championships and playing winning baseball. Overall the franchise won six division titles and two NYPL Championships.

Including the most recent team’s Championship in 2019 when the guys won the NYPL. For the city of Brooklyn that was a proud moment, and look to continue the legacy that they build today by playing Hub City in the SAL Championship game.

After defeating Greensboro in Brooklyn to claim the Northern Division Championship, there are only two wins left to claim for the borough to see another baseball championship claimed.

In the thrilling Game 2, it was the pitching staff that led the way for the franchise as the fans in attendance got to see great performances by Dakota Hawkins and Hoss Brewer kept the Greensboro bats at bay.

Starting the game was Joel Diaz and he had himself one heck of a start, as he went 6.2 shutout innings.

Being a sparkplug for the offense was Yonatan Henriquez, as he was able to do a bit of everything in getting the team to a win.

It was on April 9, 2024 that Henriquez got the call to go to Coney Island. Overall the SS has Eight home runs to go along with 52 RBI, 35 SB and a .746 OPS.

All of what the guys did lead to today, September 14 as they have only three games left to the 2025 MiLB Season.

Starting on Sunday it is going to be Game One to determine the best team in the SAL as they face Hub City.

The guys are going to start in familiar territory as they open in Brooklyn before going down to South Carolina to see if they can claim the first ever championship in the SAL and second Championship in Modern Day Cyclones history.
