Spirit look to Rebound on the Road against Seattle

With various players getting the call to represent the National team and being able to manage those that are on the road to recovery Head Coach Jonatan Giráldez and the Washington Spirit are looking to rebound and win on the road against Seattle.

Going up against the Reign isn’t going to be easy but thus far the Spirit are able to play farily well, as they won in Chicago and they won in Orlando as well.

Seattle though has an edge against the Spirit as they won 14 games thus far, and are going to also present a fascinating challenge as they play on turf field.

Having a turf field is something that Coach Giráldez is managing, as there are those on the squad on minutes restrictions.

One going through those restrictions is Hal Hershfelt as the midfielder is playing through ankle injuries.

Hal along with Coach interacted with members of the media on Zoom today to talk about the upcoming match against Carolina and the different obstacles the team are going through during the course of the NWSL Season.

Hershfelt thus far played in 28 matches, scoring three goals and having 1051 accurate passes.

Hal interacted with the media group and shared a wide range of thoughts on what it is like to go through the ankle injuries, on sharing adventures of going for airport coffee through social media and the possibility for playing with the National team.

After Hershfelt spoke it was then Coach Giráldez turn to interact and reflect on all the adjustments the team is making as they progress during the course of the NWSL Season. It is fascinating to be able to see all the different things the Spirit are working on to be amongst one of the top teams in the NWSL.

Thus far the Spirit are in Fifth Place in the NWSL standings with a 5-1-3 record and are behind the Thorns, Pride, Wave and Current.

Kansas City is undefeated thus far with an incredible 7-0-2 mark and is a challenge the Spirit are going to face later on in the year.

For now though the ladies and franchise are getting themselves ready to take on Seattle on Friday.
