As members of the New York City FC media gathered on the Zoom to hear from Sporting Director David Lee and newly appointed Head Coach Pascal Jansen, there is a certain excitement that is happening in the world as the countdown to the soccer season is begun.
The franchises preseason schedule is about to be played with the Coachella Valley Invitational happening today, February 5 at 6:00 p.m. against Sporting Kansas City.
There is some exciting news when it comes time for the preseason action, as New York City FC announced that for those hoping to see the guys play they can do so not only on the team’s YouTube channel as well as on TV, as the matches are going to be on WWOR-TV channel 9.
In addition, fans that are going to attend the home matches during the course of the 2025 season have a slate of City Celebrations to look forward too, as New York City FC continues to celebrate the diverse population and stories that are within the great Metropolitan Area.
Then it came time for the Zoom session to begin as Mr. Lee started to respond to the various questions the members of the media had. David spoke eloquently on the appointment of Mr. Jansen as the Head Coach of the team, the foundation that New York City FC is building since they started as an MLS Franchise, among many other topics.

Some of the other topics that David talked about during the course of the Media Day is the development of the younger guys on the squad, about how the team is able to make decisions when it comes time for analytical data and a bunch more.
After that it was time to introduce the members of the New York Media to the newest Head Coach of the franchise in Pascal Jansen, bringing a culture of winning and being able to have a great relationship with his players…Coach Jansen is going to be someone that is going to fit right into the culture and traditions that are being built within the New York City FC culture.
Coach Jansen talked to the media about his vision and mentality that he is hoping to bring to the franchise as well as having a message to those that support the team day in and day out.
The excitment now starts to the start of the team’s preseason play at the Coachella Valley Invitational and fans are encouraged to follow all the action on the team’s official site, the YouTube Channel and on WWOR9.
