Leaving the world of social media and boxing in a buzz the folks at Top Rank Boxing brought a night of fun and fights on Saturday night at the Prudential Center.
From the presentation to the graphics to the fact that those in attendance had an opportunity to meet and greet the Knockout ring card girls and the fighters after the fight itself made the night a memorable one.
In a triumphant return to Newark, Shakur Stevenson was able to defend the WBC lightweight world championship against a very game Artem Harutyunyan, with the final card tallying to 119-109, 118-110, and 116-112.
Tip of the cap to Artem as he did not back down from the challenge of Shakur, as both men went the distance in the 12-round bout.
Overall, it was a memorable night between the live performances as the Boxers were able to bring a flavor of who they are and the type of brand of boxing to the ring.

The fight that got the Prudential Center buzzing is that of Abdullah Mason as he was able to get the knockout of the night.
Abdullah definitely impressed many in attendance with his punching ability and most of those that followed boxing crowed him as the next big thing in the sport of boxing.
Another memorable moment came compliments of Newark-native Keith Colon, as he lived up to his Tsunami name with a flurry of punches and getting the second-round knockout.
There were a ton of great fights but the one that is going to have most talking for a while is the fact that the WBC junior lightweight championship changed hands as Robson Conceição upset O’Shaquie “Ice Water” Foster by split decision.
For Robson the quest of the championship finally fulfilled overcame the Brazil-born champion, as the emotions overtook him after hearing the final decision. The boxing community is going to probably have much to say about this bout, for sure tip the cap to Foster as he is going to most likely get a rematch in the near future.
Tip of the cap to all of the fighters as they all put on one heck of a show and one of the things that impressed the most is seeing the guys interact with the fans after the fight as well. Spotted after his victory against Miguel Madueno is Keyshawn Davis.
It was great seeing Keyshawn interacting with those in attendance in Newark, as he and the folks in the area are starting to create a great bond between the other.
Also, another awesome story coming compliments of the folks of Top Rank Boxing is the community related efforts as Stevenson got to speak to the Boys and Girls Club of Newark prior to his Main Event victory.
Overall, it was a memorable night of folks of Top Rank, as they next head to Las Vegas to put on a card featuring a battle for the Unified World Middleweight Championship as Janibek “Qazaq Style” Alimkhanuly takes on Andrei Mikhailovich for the WBO and IBF world titles.
