Positive night for the Red Bulls in Draw against Nashville

For many that attended the match at Red Bull Arena as those that entered into the gates to watch the match against Nashville they were treated to a mini-figurine giveaway and during the course of the night conversations were held on collecting and what they collected growing up.

How many whenever it came time for getting a bit of cash in the pocket ran excitedly into the collectible stores to pick up a pack of cards to only bring it to where they resided and gleefully opened up the cards to see those favorite players within the pack.

There are also those that circle days on the calendar for when the collectible figurines and giveaway days are going to be held, and those that go to the stadiums and purchase the cups and the mini helmets and scarfs.

The pinnacle of collecting are those special moments when the players on the pitch and those in the audience are able to connect and those players are able to give a piece of memorabilia such as a jersey or the cleats to those in attendance.

Defender Noah Eile shared with members of the New York media about one such moment, as he was able to connect with a fan and gave him his jersey. Fans wanting to see Noah’s thoughts on that, and the match are encouraged to give a click to the video below:

Well, during collectible night in Harrison there were a combination of all of these memories, in addition to being able to see the franchise play to a 0-0 draw against Nashville.

It was a fascinating night for the franchise as Head Coach Sandro Schwarz put a new lineup on the pitch, with the familiar starters on the international duty, but it is one that hopefully can help himself and the guys.

Coach Sandro shared these thoughts on the match and more with members of the media:

The good news from the night is the fact that the Red Bulls were able to create a ton of wonderful opportunities and even found the back of the net, but due to the ruling from Major League Soccer those goals were called back.

Seeing the creativity and the connection that the guys were able to have is something that are going to be in the memory bank of the Coaching staff as the season progresses.

With the draw the Red Bulls got to extend their home unbeaten streak across all competitions to 11 matches and that is tied for the third longest streak in franchise history. In addition, the 2024 edition of the Red Bulls became the second team in franchise history to go unbeaten in the first eight home matches to start a season.

There were also some milestone moments as goalkeeper Ryan Meara played in his second shutout of the season along with the ninth of his career. Defender Sean Nealis made his 114th career start with the franchise and that moved him into a tie for fifth place with Roy Miller for the most in the MLS starts by a defender.

Up next for the Red Bulls is going to be a road match against Montreal on Wednesday, June 19 before returning to Red Bull Arena to host Toronto on Saturday, June 22.
