Gotham FC returns back to New York City in match against Chicago

With momentum and positive energy on the side of Gotham FC the ladies are returning to Red Bull Arena and hosting the Chicago Red Stars on Sunday, May 19 with the start of the action scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
Going up against San Diego and Houston and gaining seven points this is going to be a moment for the ladies to see if they can continue to build on the momentum gained on the road.

One of the trends for Gotham FC that they are hoping to see more of is the fact that Lynn Williams is back in the scoring groove, as she is closing in on the leagues’ all-time, all competitions scoring record.

In a milestone to watch for Williams is one goal away from breaking Sam Kerr’s NWSL goal record. As the team enters into the match against Chicago Lynn is tied with Sam with 77 goals.

The great news for fans of the team is the fact that Williams has eight goals in the regular season against Chicago and that is the third-most of any player.

Goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger is making an immediate impact with the squad, as she made 18 saves in the first four NWSL matches. Berger is the fifth goalkeeper in NWSL history to allow two or fewer goals through her first four regular season starts.

One of the themes of the match is going to be the fact that Gotham FC is going to spread awareness for Mental Health Awareness as there are going to be representatives of various health care organizations at the Fan Fest to share resources and programming with fans at the stadium, while handmade jewelry vendor Live Rainbowfully will have specially crafted items inspired in support of positive mental health.

There are going to be a ton of festivities and fun planned for those attending Red Bull Arena on Sunday and to be able to find more information and to purchase tickets for all upcoming matches fans are encouraged to click on the link seen here:
