Looking to rebound after the team’s season opening loss against the University of Albany, the Fordham University Football team (1-1) defeated Wagner College (0-1) in NCAA Football action Moglia Stadium at Jack Coffey Field, by the score of 46-16.
The Young Rams Football team looked very impressive in several categories, showing off a strong running game, along with playing stellar defense. With a great crowd in the Bronx and plenty of positive energy abound, the Rams played well in the second game of the year.
Leading the way for Fordham on the offensive side is CJ Montes as he threw 319 yards and five touchdowns. What was even more impressive is the fact that Montes completed 24 of 31 passes totaling 319 yards.
There were several great connections for the Sophomore Quarterback as he was able to find MJ Wright for two touchdowns along with Garrett Cody competing six passes for 102 yards.
Another impressive performance for the Rams is Julius Loughridge as he went for 85 yards on 19 carries and one touchdown.
As for the defense there were a ton of exciting plays starting with that of Junior Linebacker James Conway as he finished the game with 13 tackles, seven solo and a forced fumble. Sophomore Linebacker Marc Pretto filled up the stat sheet with nine stops, five solo, and one sack.

There were several special moments for the Rams including the play of Freshman Running Back Jacob Rodriguez as he scored his first college touchdown. In the milestone moment of the game Garrett Cody recorded his third 100-yard receiving game of his career.
Up next for Fordham University the guys go on the road to take on the University of Buffalo at UB Stadium on Saturday, September 9 at 6:00 p.m.
This is going to be the fourth meeting between Fordham and Buffalo, with the Bulls leading the series 2-1.
