The New York Liberty (24-6) set a new franchise record in single-season wins with their 24th win of 2023, as in the finale of the four-game series New York defeated Indiana (8-23) 100- 89. Liberty has won all four games against the Fever in the 2023 WNBA season.
Sabrina Ionescu became the third WNBA player with 100 points in a season. Ionescu also added 1500 career points.
Fans of the WNBA got to see a bit of history in the making as Breanna Stewart finished with a game-high 42 points. ‘Stewie’ now holds the WNBA record for single-season 40-point games with three. Breanna Stewie out did herself scoring 30 points in the first half of the game passing her previous career high record of 29 points.
Here are some other impressive numbers for Stewart, as she is in contention for the league’s MVP award. For Breanna this is just the second game in WNBA history of at least 40 points, six rebounds, six assists, and three blocks on at least 60% shooting from the floor. Stewie has now recorded two of the four games of at least 40 points, six rebounds, and six assists on at least 60% shooting from the floor in WNBA history.
Liberty is on a great pace heading into the playoffs with their All-Star lineup with the best offensive rating in the WNBA. New York is looking great as they have been able to outdo the NBA Golden State Warriors record. New York also has the second most assists in their franchise history.

Jones is becoming a double double machine, as she recorded her tenth of the season, with her 15-point performance on 50% (5-10) shooting from the floor. JJ also shot 66.7% (2-3) from deep, 12 rebounds, and three assists, The team also saw impressive performances by Betnijah Laney with 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists; and Courtney Vandersloot with 14 assists making it her eleventh career game with eleven or more assist.
Up next for the New York Liberty the ladies head to Las Vegas and take on the Aces, as the two Super Teams are going to play in the 2023 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup on Tuesday 9pm at the Michelob Ultra Arena on August 15 the ladies are going to stay in the area as they next have a regular season game against the Aces set for August 17.
