The New York Liberty has made franchise history once again at Sundays game at the Barclays Center against the Indiana Fever. Liberty defeated the Fever by a final score of 101-83.
This is New York’s fourth 100 PT game, as the team scored incredible 44 points in the first quarter making it the single highest-scoring quarter in WNBA history since the league moved from halves to quarters in 2006.

Betnijah Laney had her first 20 PT game of the season. Laney scored 22 PT, 69.2% (9-13) from the floor, including 60% (3-5) from three, and four rebounds. Both Jonquel Jones & Laney were shooting from the 3 during warmups and their efforts and hard work showed in Sunday’s game.
“It was special bringing Baby JJ out during her YES Network interview after winning the game stated Laney about her niece. “Trying to be an example for her, as she comes up, continue to grow and learn and to be a part of it “

In the first quarter of the game Jones scored 10 points and was able to finish the game with 18 points on 54.5% (6-11) shooting from the field, including 57.1% (4-7) from deep, 11 rebounds, and two assists.
“Any time you could see the ball go in the hoop or get stops it does a lot to start the game good,” said Jonquel Jones during the post-game press conference.
Indiana Fever Victoria Vivians also played an impressive game, as the guard stat line included 16 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Another leading scorer is Erica Wheeler as she scored 15 points and two assists.
Liberty played as a unit during Sunday’s game and continues to lead in the Eastern Conferences. Up next for the New York Liberty, the ladies remain in the New York area to host Seattle Storm on Tuesday July 25 at the Barclays Center at 7pm.
