There have been a ton of moves made by the Washington Mystics (9-7) currently sit in Third Place in the WNBA standings and have made a ton of moves to fill in some voids till healthy bodies return and missing players return from their service overseas.
Team China just won a Gold Medal in the 2023 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup, and that means that the team can see the return of Li Meng and hopes to continue the momentum of her fine play overseas to the Washington D.C. area.
With the return of Meng, that means that the team had to make moves on their roster, and in doing so waived DMV Product Abby Meyers.
In another move the franchise made they have re-signed Linnae Harper to a hardship contract.
Thus far the Mystics are filling the void of having an injured Elena Delle Donne and Shakira Austin.

In a move that has many excited the team recently announced the trade for Queen Egbo from the Indiana Fever in exchange for center Amanda Zahui B.
“This trade was an opportunity to acquire a young post talent that can complement our other post players,” said General Manager Mike Thibault. “In light of our injury situation, this trade becomes even more important.”
The Mystics have been looking for someone to help them in several categories, including the protection of the rim, and in rebounding and Egbo can be that player.
Queen, in her second year in the W, has career averages of 5.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 49 games (31 starts). As a rookie, Egbo was named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team.
Going to be fascinating to see how the team meshes and gels with all of the additions to the roster.
Currently the team is on a two-game losing streak, as they had tough games against the Atlanta Dream and Dallas Wings on the road.
The good news is that the ladies are going to have a chance to play in the Entertainment and Sports Arena, a place where they traditionally play very well. Up next the ladies host the Indiana Fever on July 7, with the time of the tip scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
