There were a ton of things that went right for the Washington Mystics except for one thing, the fact that they lost in their second game against the Connecticut Sun by a final of 80-74 in WNBA action on Sunday.
There were so many memorable moments for the Mystics, as Natasha Cloud reached 200 career steals during the First Quarter of the game. Cloud finished the game with 201 in her career.
The other half of the Washington Mystics Batman and Robin connection is Elena Delle Donne grabbed 11 rebounds, and with that became the 33rd player in the WNBA history to reach 4000+ points and 1500+ in her career.

Delle Donne is the second fastest to reach the mark behind Lauren Jackson (209 games) in addition to becoming the 15th player in WNBA history to reach 4000+ points, 1500+ rebounds and 300+ blocks.
Overall, Elena has 4355 points, 1509 rebounds and 322 blocks in her career.
The other impressive performance came from Shakira Austin, as she has a new career-high with 21 points. Austin had her 5th double-double of her career and her first 20+ points and 10+ rebounds.
In another impressive stat for the team, this is the first time since July 30, 2022, that the team had double-doubles performances as Austin had 21 points and 11 rebounds to go along with Delle Donne’s 19 and 11 rebounds.
At the end of all that though there were a ton of shots that were unable to fall down as the Mystics faced their first defeat in a very young 2023 WNBA Season.
In the good news department, the Mystics get to return back to the Washington D.C. area and the friendly confines of the Entertainment and Sports Arena on Tuesday in a rematch with the Sun. Start time for the Mystics and Sun is set for 7:00 p.m.
