New York City FC makes two huge moves in preparing for the Future

New York City FC always looking for the best and brightest talent made two huge moves recently.

The first move the franchise announced is the fact that they traded a 2023 International Roster Spot to the LA Galaxy.
Then in their most recent move they traded defender Malte Amundsen to the Columbus Crew.

Sporting Director David Lee said: “We would like to thank Malte for all his contributions to the Club. Malte has been an utmost professional since the day he arrived and has played a part in our success the last couple of seasons. We wish him all the best in Columbus.”

Amundsen arrived in the New York area ahead of the 2021 season and is a huge part of the NYCFC Playoff run, as he appeared in all four of the matches as they went on to win the MLS Championship.

During his time with NYCFC Malte appeared in 71 matches, scored one goal and recorded five assists across all competitions as he helped the team in lifting the MLS Cup and Campeones Cup.

Defender Malte Amundsen said: “I would like to thank the people at the Club for everything they have done for me since I arrived. I take with me a lot of great memories both on-and-off the pitch, winning MLS Cup alongside my teammates is something I will never forget. I look forward to the new challenge ahead and wish the team the best of luck the rest of the season.”

New York City FC is going to next be in action on Saturday as they take on Toronto in what is going to be a huge road match at BMO Field.
