It is one of the biggest days of the year for those who love the WNBA, as they will have a chance to see who the future stars of the team will be. There must be a ton of emotions both within the fanbase, as well as the members of the staff and the Draftees themselves.
All of the 2023 WNBA Draftees are in New York City, and some of them are starting to hit up the down, as the countdown is on to see who will have a chance to play in the WNBA.
On hand to help light up the Empire State Building Orange was WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert along with the Senior Vice President of Marketing, Public Relations and Digial for the Empire State Building Abigal Rickards.
In addition, Indiana Fever star Kelsey Mitchell helped to greet the draftees and helped to welcome them into the WNBA. Mitchell was the second overall pick in the WNBA Draft during the 2018 Season and can share what her experiences are with those who were in New York City.

The Indiana Fever are going to be the lucky team drafting first, as they were able to win the WNBA Draft Lottery. In addition, the Fever are also going to pick the 7th Draftee in the First Round. During last’s year’s draft they were the first team in WNBA history to make picks in the first round.
After the Fever it will be the Minnesota Lynx picking second, the Dallas Wings picking third followed by the Washington Mystics picking Fourth.

Taking in some of the sights at the Empire State Building are Maddy Siegrist from Villanova, Alexis Morris from the reigning NCAA Champions LSU, Jordan Horston from the Tennesse Women’s Basketball Team, Zia Cooke from University of South Carolina, Haley Jones from Stanford and Aliyah Boston from the University of South Carolina.
In addition also slated to attend are Laeticia Amihere (South Carolina), Brea Beal (South Carolina) Grace Berger (Indiana), Ashley Joens (Iowa State), Dorka Juhasz (Connecticut), Lou Lopez Senechal (Connecticut) Taylor Mikesell (Ohio State) and Stephanie Soares (Iowa State).
It will be a day of fun, fashion and nerves as the WNBA Draftees will all be at Spring Studios to see what their future teams will be and where they will have a chance to play out their professional careers.
The WNBA Draft will be staring at 7:00 p.m. with all of the selections to air on the ESPN Network.
