After some amazing performance for the Fordham University Men’s Basketball team, guard Will Richardson was named to the Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week. This award is for games played from February 13-19, and this is the first weekly award of 2022-23 for Richardson.
During the course of the week, Richardson has been able to average 14.5 ppg, having a .500 (7-14) from behind the arc. In addition, Richardson was able to have a career-high 21 points, going six-for-ten from long distance while also having an assist and a steal in the loss against VCU on Saturday.
Thus far Richardson has been able to average 6.3 ppg and 1.2 rpg. He has been able to have a .432 (22-31) from behind the arc, which is third best in the Atlantic 10. Richardson is the first Ram to win an Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honor since Nick Honor accomplished the feat in 2019.
The Rams (21-6, 9-5) have their first 20-win season since the 1990-91 season, will next be in action on February 22, when they head to Chicago to take on Loyola Chicago University in an Atlantic 10 Contest that is set for 9:00 p.m.
