New York Mets add depth to Pitching Rotation in Sam Coonrod

The New York Mets were able to add depth to their pitching rotation by adding Sam Coonrod off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies, in addition they were also able to designate outfielder Khalil Lee for assignment.

Coonrod, is a righty, who has a 7-5 record to go along with five saves. In addition, the pitcher holds a 5.27 ERA (57 earned runs/97.1 innings) and 95 strikeouts in 105 combined major league games between the San Francisco Giants (2019-2020) and the Phillies (2021-2022).

Sam had some stellar showings with the Phillies, as he was able to make 12 appearances for the team. In the reliver role, Coonrod was able to have a 2-2 record with two saves and a 4.04 ERA (19 earned runs/42.1 innings) in 42 games for the Phillies during the 2021 season.
