The St. John’s Men’s Basketball team is about to wrap-up their two-game road trip by taking on Butler on Tuesday. The game between these two BIG EAST rivals will air on FS1 with the tip starting at 8:30 p.m.
It has been a rough road stretch for the Red Storm, who have lost their last two. In the last showing for the Johnnies, they had a 96-71 loss to No. 16/15 Xavier. Helping to lead the way in that game was Dylan Addae-Wusu and AJ Stoor who had 14 points apiece.
Over the last four games, Addae-Wusu and Storr have been able to lead St. John’s. Storr has been able to post a team-best 13.8 points-per-game, as he has been able to connect on 11 of his last 30 field goals from behind the arc. Addae-Wusu, meanwhile, registered 12.0 points-per-contest, having a 45.8 percent (11-24 FG) from the field during that time.
The St. John’s Men’s Basketball team will look to sweep the regular-season series with Butler for their second-straight season. In the team’s last meeting on January 10, Joel Soriano had a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double to lead the Jonnies. In that contest the Red Storm was able to hit 52.6 percent (30-57 FG) from the floor.
St. John’s and Butler have been rivals for a while, as the two have met in the 1958 National Invitation Tournament. In the overall meetings between these two, they have been able to split their meetings 20 times. The Red Storm is looking to earn their third victory at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
During the course of the St. Johns’ Men’s Basketball season last year, St. John’s was able to knock off Butler in Indianapolis with a 75-72 victory on Feb 5, 2002.
After this meeting with Butler, St. John’s will have a chance to return to New York City to host Providence at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. Tip-off for that game is schedule for 12:00 p.m.
